Building RaveDish

A month or so ago, I decided to build a mobile application that would allow me to rate dishes at restaurants, and most importantly, be able to browse other ratings from friends and users of the application.

I decided to call this application RaveDish, and came up with a stack to write it on. The first decision was to go native, I want to immerse myself in both iOS and Android development and take advantage of the performance you get at this level.

The second decision was to use a Node/Mongo/Express stack for my API, and Amazon's S3 for picture storage.

In the upcoming weeks and months, I plan to blog about my experience building this app from the ground up and share all of the victories and failures I encounter along the way.

In the mean time, I leave you with a freshly designed logo that was made specifically for RaveDish, hope to see you back!
